Boise State point guard Tasha Harris, who missed all but three games last season with a leg injury, has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, the school announced Wednesday.
Harris also missed the 2005-06 season with an injury. Harris, a three-year starter at point guard, was the WAC preseason player of the year in 2008-09. Harris was the 2005 WAC Freshman of the Year, a 2008 All-WAC first-team selection, a 2008 WAC All-Defensive pick and a two-time WAC All-Tournament team member.
"I’m excited about having another chance to compete at Boise State it (career) would have felt incomplete otherwise," Harris said. "I'm happy that they gave me the opportunity to continue and I’m really excited about playing with next year’s team…If the NCAA wouldn’t have granted the extra year I would have felt a little empty inside and would have been disappointed…But again I'm really thankful and I’m looking forward to our future success."
The Broncos will also have senior guard Jessica Thompson back. She missed last season with an injury.
"We are very excited to have Tasha back with us next season. Obviously being preseason player of the year last year she will be a huge contribution to next year’s team," Presnell said. "I am thrilled at how hard our returning Broncos have worked this spring and look forward to adding the talented players that we have signed. I feel good about this upcoming season."
