Eddie Williams named Idaho's MVP at annual awards banquet

Senior H-back Eddie Williams earned the Idaho football team's John Friesz Most Valuable Player Award at the Vandals' annual banquet.

Williams, who led the Vandals with 54 catches for 687 yards and six touchdowns, also was the team's offensive player of the year.

Senior end Josh Shaw was chosen as the defensive player of the year, while senior center Adam Korby was the recipient of the Wayne Walker Ironman Award after starting all 47 games of his Vandal career. It was the fourth year in a row that Korby garnered the award.

Senior T.J. Conley, who leads the nation in punting with a 47.4-yard average, was the special teams player of the year. He also won the Kathy Clark Scholar-Athlete Award.

The Wayne Anderson Coaches Award went to junior guard Mike Iupati, while senior defensive end Taylor Rust was voted Most Inspirational. Junior running back Devon Sturdivant earned the Vandal Pride Strong Man Award and senior linebacker Andrew Blevins was the Special Teams Ironman.

The scout team players of the year were DeMaundray Wooldridge (offense), Isaiah Lavea (defense) and Rayce Bird (special teams).

BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: Brittany Barcellos, a senior from South Lake Tahoe High in California, has signed to play for the Broncos. Barcellos has been named to the All-Sierra League team in all three of her high school seasons, the All-Region team in two of those seasons and was named to the All-State team in her junior season.
