The College of Idaho softball team defeated Oregon Tech 6-3 in NAIA Region I
Championship game Friday, clinching its first-ever berth in NAIA Women's
World Series at Wilson-Morgan Softball Complex in Decatur, Ala.
The Coyotes set a school record with four home runs in the game, including a
pair from Dani Villyard in the win.
Katie Zillner, who was named Regional Player of the Year earlier Friday,
picked up her 17th win of the season. She went the distance, striking out
eight. She also hit a two-run home run.
