The Boise State women's tennis team lost its first-round NCAA Tournament
match to Kentucky 4-1 on Friday morning in Nashville, Tenn.
The Broncos won the doubles point, then lost four consecutive singles
matches in straight sets to see their season end.
BSU earned the doubles point when Klaudia Wlodarczyk and Bianca Jochimsen
won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles and the No. 1 team of Polina Kokoulina and
Pitchittra Thongdach scored an 8-6 win.
In singles, Kokoluina, Jochimsen, Thongdach and Laura Baum dropped
straight-set matches.
The only set BSU won in singles was at No. 5 Stacey Housley. The senior won
the first set and was trailing in the second 5-3 when the match ended.
The BSU men's tennis team plays in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday against
Cal at USC.
