Nicole Arizana, Kuna: The senior dominated in the circle in a 13-0 victory over Borah in a nonconference matchup. Arizana pitched five shutout innings without giving up a hit. She finished with 12 strikeouts and one walk and also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
Mikayla Malaspina, Vallivue: The senior represented Idaho well at the Nike-Chandler Rotary Elite meet in Phoenix, Ariz. Malaspina took sixth in the 3,200 meters in a time of 11 minutes, 4.27 seconds, which is the fastest time among Idaho runners this season, according to athletic.net. Her 1,600-meter time of 5:09.81 at the same meet ranks third among Idaho runners.
BOYS TRACK & FIELD
Michael Slagowski, Rocky Mountain: The junior clocked the third fastest time in the nation in the 800 meters this season — according to athletic.net — in winning the two-lap event in 1 minute, 53.25 seconds at Mountain View High.
Ellie Gamble, Centennial: Representing the Patriots at No. 1 singles, Gamble won matches against Rocky Mountain and Mountain View during the week. The junior then traveled north for the Lewiston Invitational, winning the tournament championship by defeating Kennewick's No. 1 player 6-2, 6-2.
Gavin Hatter, Centennial: Representing the Patriots at No. 1 singles, Hatter won matches against Rocky Mountain and Mountain View during the week. At the Lewiston Invitational, Hatter, a senior, won every match leading up to the finals without dropping a game. In the tournament championship, Hatter beat Meridian's David Galway 6-2, 6-1.
Kaitlyn Deeble, Centennial: Deeble recorded the lowest nine-hole round among the 5A Southern Idaho Conference's female golfers last week, shooting a 39 at SpurWing.
Graysen Huff, Eagle: Huff won the Nampa Invitational at Centennial Golf Course with a 66. He also posted the lowest nine-hole total among the 5A Southern Idaho Conference's male golfers last week with his 31 at TimberStone.
