Hayden Brown, Borah: The Lions took over the No. 3 spot in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference Pod A standings with a 28-14 victory over Timberline at Dona Larsen Park. Brown, a junior quarterback, completed 18-of-30 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Borah's win puts the Lions in position to claim the Pod A third-place state playoff seed with a victory over Nampa this week.

Bailey Irwin, Vallivue: The Falcons wrapped up the No. 4 seed in the 5A District Three Tournament with two victories last week. Irwin, a senior setter, had 28 assists, five aces and five kills in a 25-10, 25-22, 25-22 sweep of Capital. She added 43 assists, 10 digs, six kills and two aces in a 22-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-11 victory over Mountain View. Vallivue also is the only team in the 5A SIC with a win over top-ranked Eagle.
Maddie Minnaert, Bishop Kelly: The Knights earned their sixth consecutive 4A District Three championship with a 2-0 win over Middleton in the title game and a 1-0 win against Caldwell in the semifinals. Minnaert, a senior forward, scored both goals in the championship match and had the lone assist in the semifinals.
Joseph Sammartino, Bishop Kelly: The top-seeded Knights stumbled in the semifinals of the 4A District Three Tournament, but fought their way to a state berth with two straight wins. Sammartino, a senior midfielder, finished the week with five goals, highlighted by a four-goal game in a 4-3 overtime victory against Caldwell, including the golden goal in overtime.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Emily Hamlin, Boise: The senior picked up her fourth individual win of the season last week, winning the Boise City Meet at Ann Morrison Park in 17 minutes, 35.20 seconds. Hamlin's time is the fastest in the state this season, according to athletic.net, and helped lead the Braves to victory as a team.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Drew Schultz, Capital: The senior moved into the No. 2 spot in the state rankings at athletic.net by winning the Boise City Meet at Ann Morrison Park in 15 minutes, 34.36 seconds. It was Schutlz's first individual win of the season and helped the Eagles take second as a team.
