AJ Castellanos, Wilder: The versatile senior has the Wildcats off to a 3-0 start in the 1A Division II eight-man classification. In a 58-28 victory against two-time defending state champion Salmon River, Castellanos completed 5-of-7 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 243 yards on 21 carries for five more scores. Castellanos plays quarterback, running back and defensive back, contributing two tackles, two pass breakups and one interception against Salmon River.

Hailee Ackerman, Skyview: The Hawks stayed perfect in the 4A Southern Idaho Conference with two victories last week. The junior outside hitter had 19 kills and two aces in a 25-10, 25-15, 25-21 sweep of Mountain Home. Ackerman added six kills, three aces and three digs in a 25-10, 25-14, 25-7 rout of Caldwell.
Terrika Nelson, Middleton: The Vikings remained unbeaten in the 4A Southern Idaho Conference and 8-2-0 overall with three victories last week. Their senior forward, a returning all-conference first-team selection, totaled eight goals in wins over Mountain Home (4-1), Skyview (3-1) and Fruitland (9-0).
Finnagan Townsley, Centennial: Last year's district and state runner-up is off to a 9-0-2 start overall with a 5-0-1 record in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference. The Mavericks got a boost from their senior midfielder, who had one goal in a 5-0 victory over Mountain View and one goal and one assist in a 5-0 win against Rocky Mountain. Townsley has a 4.1 grade-point average and is student body representative.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Sophie Stands, Timberline: The Wolves traveled to Washington last weekend for the Fort Steilacoom Invitational in Seattle. Timberline tied for first in the meet with 56 points, but lost the tiebreaker because it did not bring a sixth runner. Stands, a junior, led the way for the Wolves with a 10th-place finish in 19 minutes, 38.23 seconds.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Austin Fred, Middleton: The senior won the Mountain Home Invitational at Desert Canyon Golf Course, helping the Vikings take third as a team. Fred crossed the finish line in 16 minutes, 42.40 seconds.
