Quarterback Austin Van Horne completed 7-of-7 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 55 yards and two more scores as Caldwell earned a nonconference victory. Isaiah Chaves added 99 yards on the ground and two TDs, and Braden Swanson caught five passes for 116 yards and a score for the Cougars.

Skyview stormed back from a 26-0 halftime deficit and took a one-point lead on Fili Church’s 10-yard TD pass from Jacob Hibbard with 8:50 left in the fourth quarter. But Post Falls answered with a three-play, 77-yard drive to drop the Hawks to 0-2. Hibbard completed 23-of-42 passes for 258 yards and three TDs with Kyle Pierce (193 yards, two TDs) as his top target.

Homedale held Melba to 57 yards of offense and three first downs as the Trojans racked up 527 yards and 27 first downs. Running back Josh Tolmie led Homedale with 160 yards and three TDs. Senior quarterback Lawsen Matteson completed 20-of-28 for 251 yards and three TDs, including two to Connor Carter.
New Plymouth 41, Payette 8
Running back Teagan Gross scored three TDs and racked up 153 yards on the ground to lead New Plymouth to a win. Outside linebacker Riley Farden returned an interception for a touchdown as the Pilgrims totaled 302 yards of offense compared to Payette’s 121 yards.

Notus QB Caleb Zimmerman passed for 114 yards and a TD, and he ran for 56 yards and two scores in a game shortened with three minutes left in the third quarter due to lightning. Brandon Patrick added 88 rushing yards and two TDs for the Pirates.
Salmon River 28, Colton (Wash.) 20
Tucker Boyd scored on a 29-yard run with 1:30 left in the game, and then forced a Colton fumble in the final seconds to secure Salmon River’s win. Boyd finished with 64 yards on the ground and two scores, and Devon Buys and Canyon Harper each scored one TD.
NAMPA 41, COLUMBIA 6
Quarterback Kooper Wilcox passed for 106 yards and three TDs, and he added 110 yards and a score on the ground late Thursday to lead the Bulldogs over their crosstown rivals. Rob Davenport caught all three TD passes as part of a four-catch, 80-yard night, and Pedro King ran for 165 yards and a TD.
