As per tradition, the Weiser High School band marched through school hallways, gathering students who went outside to cheer their boys basketball team on their way to the first round of the state basketball championship. Thursday, March 2, 2017.

Sage is a St. Luke's Health System staff member who gets called in when a patient is upset, confused or angry. "It's amazing to watch what (it does to) some of the folks that are in crisis, just the arrival of that friendly four-legged creature," the health system's security director said. Sage recently helped to calm an elderly patient at St. Luke's Meridian Medical Center who had been upset and wanted to leave the hospital. Sage was accompanied by Security Operations Supervisor Josh Schwenken.

An off-shore storm in the Pacific caused flooding and damage to coastal towns across Washington and Oregon on Thursday, January 18. Video by Laurie Collin Deranleau shows waves hitting the shore in Westport where waves reached about 30 feet high. The US Coast Guard Station At Quilayute River also took video of showing the ocean swell near the mouth of the river in the village of La Push, Washington. A large amount of ocean foam can be seen washed up on the shore.
