Eagle High and Boise State graduate Ty Travis became the first amateur to capture the Idaho Open title since 1982, when Mike Hamblin, now a PGA professional, took the crown. Travis followed his opening-round 68 with a final-round, 5-under-par 67 on Thursday for a two-round total of 9-under 135 at the 7,373-yard Teton Springs Resort & Club. Travis won by five strokes over Ben Bryson, PGA head professional at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, and Nathan Ferrell, PGA assistant professional at Teton Pines Country Club and Resort in Wilson, Wyo. On the team side, Travis and Jonathan Gibbs, PGA director of instruction at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, took the title by a single shot over three other teams with a winning two-round better-ball total of 12-under 132. In the senior division, Tommy Sanderson, PGA teaching professional at The Valley Club in Sun Valley, won at 2-over 146.
