The Idaho football team held its second scrimmage of the spring Saturday at the Kibbie Dome, with the defense tallying 18 sacks, six hurries and 11 pass breakups. “This was probably the first scrimmage since I’ve been here where the defense got after the offense that much,” coach Paul Petrino said. Quarterback Matt Linehan threw for 354 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Jake Luton had 279 passing yards and three touchdowns. Elijhaa Penny rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and Dezmon Epps had 165 receiving yards and one touchdown.
BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: Saturday’s game against Nevada was postponed. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday at Dona Larsen Park.
BSU SAND VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos (3-10) lost to USC 5-0 and Hawaii 5-0 in Hermosa Beach, Calif.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO TRACK AND FIELD: Amy Pfaff took second in the women’s 800 meters (2:12.81), and anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team (3:54.13) at the John Knight Twilight in Monmouth, Ore. Joe Bolin won the men’s pole vault with a school record mark of 14 feet, 11 inches.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE TRACK AND FIELD: Taylor Deskins won the women’s 100 meters (12.75) at the WAR VIII in Spokane. Lexi Tubbs took first in the women’s 100-meter hurdles (14.39), Michael Gordon won the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:53.69), and Zach McClanahan shared first place in the men’s pole vault (15-1).
NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (7-33, 2-18 GNAC) lost to Montana State Billings 13-7 and 21-6 in five innings in Nampa. Late Friday, the Yellowjackets swept NNU 10-1 in five innings and 11-4.
