The Bengals’ volleyball team advanced to the championship of the conference tournament for the fourth straight season, beating Idaho 25-23, 25-16, 24-26 and 25-19 in Friday’s semifinals. Tressa Lyman recorded her 17th double-double of the season with a match-high 20 kills and 12 digs. Bailey Bars added 10 kills and 11 digs for ISU (23-9), which will play Northern Arizona in Saturday’s title match. Kaela Straw led the Vandals (15-15) with her 21st career double-double, tallying 14 kills and 12 digs.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S BASKETBALL: Aitor Zubizarreta scored a career-high 29 points as the Coyotes outlasted Montana Tech 98-90 in the Domino’s Classic in Caldwell, extending their home win streak to 37 in a row. The C of I (4-2) withstood a game with 54 fouls and 71 foul shots — the Coyotes were 21-of-24 free throws in the second half. On Saturday, the Coyotes play perennial Division II powerhouse Metro State, which beat Eastern Oregon 78-59.
