The Boise State football team addressed another position of need with its latest verbal commitment.
Marnez Ogletree, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback from Fullerton (Calif.) College confirmed via text message that he committed to Boise State on Thursday. Ogletree plans to enroll in January and will be a redshirt junior. In six games this season, he has made 20 tackles, has an interception and has broken up seven passes. Last season in 10 games, he had 29 tackles, a forced fumble, an interception and five pass breakups.
Originally from Georgia, Ogletree also had interest from Cal, Hawaii, UAB and Utah, according to Rivals.com. Ogletree tweeted on Monday that Boise State was his first official offer.
The Broncos lose senior cornerbacks Bryan Douglas and Cleshawn Page after this season, and could also need to replace Mercy Maston if he doesn't redshirt.
Verbal commitments are non-binding. Ogletree can officially sign in December to join the team in January.
