MOUNTAIN WEST RACE
Utah State 6-1 (9-3)
Boise State 5-1 (8-2)
Colorado State 5-1 (9-1)
Air Force 4-3 (8-3)
Wyoming 2-4 (4-6)
New Mexico 1-5 (3-7)
San Diego State 4-3 (6-5)
Nevada 3-3 (6-4)
Fresno State 3-3 (4-6)
Hawaii 2-4 (3-8)
San Jose State 2-5 (3-8)
UNLV 1-5 (2-9)
San Diego State beat Air Force and Utah State beat San Jose State on Friday night, bringing some clarity to the Mountain Division race and creating a mess in the West Division.
In the Mountain:
— Boise State wins the division with two victories (at Wyoming, vs. Utah State) or with a win against Utah State and a Colorado State loss (vs. New Mexico, at Air Force).
— Colorado State wins the division with two wins and a Boise State loss.
— Utah State wins the division with a win at Boise State and a Colorado State loss.
— If Colorado State loses a game, the Boise State-Utah State game will decide the division.
In the West:
— Fresno State plays at Nevada on Saturday. Both teams beat San Diego State, so the winner can take the division by winning its season finale. Nevada plays UNLV; Fresno State plays Hawaii.
— San Diego State can win the West by beating San Jose State and having the Fresno-Nevada winner lose its finale.
— Hawaii still could win the division if San Diego State loses to San Jose State and the Rainbow Warriors win out (vs. UNLV, at Fresno State). They also would need Fresno State to beat Nevada and Nevada to lose to UNLV. That would create a three-way tie at 4-4 (all teams would be 1-1 against each other) and Hawaii would win based on a superior division record.
