Boise State has distributed fewer than 28,000 tickets, including student tickets, to its home opener Saturday against Colorado State.
The school has sold a little more than 21,000 season tickets. That’s about a 6 percent drop from last year. The Broncos lost 7 percent of their season-ticket holders from 2012 to 2013.
The smallest crowd for a home game last year was 31,645 for the home finale against New Mexico. The Broncos drew 33,293 for the home opener against UT Martin.
Albertsons Stadium capacity is 36,387.
Never miss a local story.
The last time Boise State had a crowd of less than 30,000 for a home game was the 2006 season opener against Sacramento State — Chris Petersen’s first game as head coach.
