The Boise State football team continues to stock its offensive arsenal in coach Bryan Harsin's first full recruiting class.
Leesburg (Fla.) High receiver Bryan Jefferson said on his Twitter account that he has verbally committed to the Broncos' 2015 recruiting class. According to Rivals.com, he had offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa and Oregon State. He made his final decision between Boise State and Central Florida. He is listed as 6-foot, 180 pounds with a 4.47-second time in the 40-yard dash. Jefferson had 41 catches for 609 yards and five touchdowns last season.
In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday, Jefferson said he spoke to UCF coaches Tuesday morning after returning from his visit to Boise State.
"It was really kind of a crazy situation," Jefferson said. "I sat down with Coach O'Leary and Coach Beck [Sean Beckton] and Coach Mo [Allen Mogridge], and Coach O'Leary gave me a deadline. He said, 'You have until eight o'clock tonight to make a decision, and if you don't decide by then we're got to move on.'
Never miss a local story.
"So, really, the pressure got to me. I felt like I was being rushed and that kind of inched Boise State up a bit."
Jefferson said he enjoyed his visit to Boise and the strong fanbase stood out.
"It was great up there," he told the Sentinel. "You walk around town and everyone has on either a Boise State T-shirt or a hat or something. You see flags all over the place. It's really Bronco Nation up there."
