Geo Martinez, who finished eighth at the NCAA Championships at 149 pounds in March, has been granted a release from his scholarship to seek a transfer elsewhere.
Martinez, a true sophomore, is 62-15 in his Boise State career. If he transfers to another Division I school, he will need to sit out a year, per NCAA rules.
Boise State said Martinez sought the release after Greg Randall was fired in April and before the school hired Mike Mendoza on May 20.
TheOpenMat.com reported Martinez will transfer to Oklahoma State, but Boise State could not confirm if he has selected another school, and an Oklahoma State official did not respond to a message Monday.
