Boisean Ashley Toner McNeal (basketball) is one of six individuals to be honored by Idaho State on Saturday. The other inductees are Stacey (Peterson) Allen of Idaho Falls (soccer); Maureen Griffin of Arlington, Texas (track and field); Rod Childs of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (football); Selena Frazier of Eugene (track and field) and Greg Smith of Pocatello (football). McNeal (Burley High) was named to the All-Big Sky first team in 2000-01, and is fifth on the Bengals’ career points list.
BSU/ISU SOCCER: After two overtime periods, the Broncos and Bengals settled for a 1-1 tie Sunday in Pocatello. Baylee Blaser (Mountain View High) scored in the 22nd minute for Boise State (1-3-1), and Maria Sanchez converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute for Idaho State (1-4-1). The Broncos host Utah at 4 p.m. Friday.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders beat Hawaii Pacific 2-1 in overtime late Saturday night in Waipahu, Hawaii. Alex Mitrovic scored in the 10th minute, and Bryan Neba hit the game-winning shot for Northwest Nazarene (2-0).
COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Coyotes fell to Linfield College 2-1 in McMinnville, Ore. Jamiece Yizar scored in the 58th minute for the College of Idaho (4-1).
