BOISE — The Broncos earned a 185-148 victory over the Vandals in their season opener at the Boise West YMCA on Saturday. Kacee Olson won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Brittany Aoyama picked up four swimming victories by winning the 100-meter butterfly and being part of three relays — 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle. Boise State next competes at Utah on Oct. 30.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S SOCCER: The Coyotes defeated Northwest Christian 1-0 in Springfield, Ore. Mehmed Selimovic scored for the C of I (6-3, 5-3 Cascade).
C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: The C of I won 4-2 at Northwest Christian. Jamiece Yizar scored twice and Summer Jackson and Aurora Ostolasa each added a goal for the Coyotes (9-2, 5-1 Cascade).
C OF I VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes beat Northwest Christian 25-22, 25-23, 25-18 in Caldwell. Sierra Porter had 33 assists and 20 digs for the C of I (12-9, 10-3 Cascade).

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S SOCCER: The No. 12 Crusaders fell to Western Washington 2-1 in overtime in Bellingham, Wash. Julio Castillo scored for NNU (8-3-1, 4-2-1 GNAC).
NNU WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders gave up a penalty kick in overtime to lose to Simon Fraser 2-1 in Nampa. Nicole Nsa scored for NNU (5-6-1, 2-4-1 GNAC).
NNU VOLLEYBALL: NNU beat Alaska 25-8, 25-16, 25-21 in Nampa. Kendra Bodine had 10 kills for the Crusaders ( 9-7, 6-2 GNAC).
NNU WOMEN’S GOLF: The Crusaders finished at 110-over 694 to take seventh place at the St. Martin’s Invitational in Olympia, Wash. St. Martin’s won the event at 47-over 631.
