The Idaho volleyball team downed North Dakota 25-23, 17-25, 27-25, 20-25, 15-9 in the Big Sky Tournament on Thursday, setting up a semifinal matchup with Idaho State on Friday. The Bengals defeated Eastern Washington 26-28, 17-25, 25-12, 25-13, 15-9. Kaela Straw led the Vandals (14-15) with a season-high 18 kills. Three ISU (22-9) players finished with double-doubles, led by Tressa Lyman’s match-high 21 kills and 11 digs to go with three blocks.
ISU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: No. 20 Northwestern topped the Bengals 72-36 in Evanston, Ill. Anna Policicchio led ISU (1-1) with eight points and six boards.
BOISE STATE SWIMMING & DIVING: Emma Chard took third in the 500 freestyle, posting an NCAA B and school record on day one of the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas.
BSU MEN’S GOLF: The Broncos signed Vallivue High’s Connor Johnstone, along with Brian Humphreys (Washougal, Wash.) and Mason Schulze (Poway, Calif.) to letters of intent.

NNU VOLLEYBALL: The Crusaders defeated Montana State Billings 25-18, 25-11, 25-16 in Nampa. Elayna Rice moved to No. 10 all-time in kills with six in the match — she has 1,052 in her career — while adding 14 digs. Linnea Phillips had 12 digs to move to No. 5 all-time with 1,381.
