Carlos Herrera, Yonathan Daza and Terry McClure each went 4-for-5, and Herrera and McClure added homers for the Hawks in an 11-2 victory over the Indians in the second of a five-game Northwest League series Sunday at Avista Stadium.
Herrera tied the game with a solo shot in the third inning, and Tyler Follis gave Boise (7-11) a 2-1 lead with an RBI single in the top of the fourth. Kevin Padlo’s two-run double in the sixth helped pad the lead, and McClure’s two-run blast and Herrera’s RBI single in the ninth provided more insurance.
Daza boosted his league-best batting average to .418, and Padlo increased his NWL-leading RBI count to 19. First baseman Brian Mundell added three hits, including two doubles.
Logan Sawyer (2-0) earned the win by allowing one run on five hits in seven innings, walking three without a strikeout.
