Boise State senior associate athletic director Curt Apsey has accepted the position as the new athletic director at Carroll College in Helena, Mont. He will begin his new position Oct. 6 at the NAIA school.
Apsey was a 16-year member of the Boise State athletic department, joining in December 1998. He has been a primary external fundraiser for the Broncos. He headed campaigns to raise funds for the Caven-Williams Indoor Sports Complex, the Stueckle City Center, the Arguinchona Basketball Complex and the Bleymaier Football Center.
“While we are very excited at this new position for Curt, at the same time we are sorry to lose a vital member of our senior staff,” Boise State Director of Athletics Mark Coyle said in a statement. “Curt has served many roles during his career as a Bronco and he was very instrumental in helping to make a smooth transition for me and my family to Boise three years ago. We wish all the best to Curt and his family knowing that he will do an outstanding job at Carroll College.”
Apsey replaces Bruce Parker, who took the AD job at Rocky Mountain College in June. Apsey also served in the athletic departments at CSU San Bernardino and CSU Bakersfield before coming to Boise State. He is a 1988 Cal Poly graduate. His daughter, Madison, is a freshman soccer player at Carroll.
