WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Idaho beat Utah 4-3 at the Maverik Center on Saturday night, finishing its preseason schedule 2-0 after outscoring the Grizzlies 11-6 in the two games.
Rob Linsmayer, Andrew Panzarella, Andre Bouvet-Morrissette and Shawn Bates scored.
NEXT: The Steelheads, an affiliate of the NHL Dallas Stars, open their 72-game regular season with games against the Rapid City Rush on Friday and Saturday nights at CenturyLink Arena in Downtown Boise.

Linsmayer and newcomer Emil Molin led the way as the Steelheads beat the Grizzlies 7-3 before 3,802 fans in a season-ticket-holders preseason game at CenturyLink Arena. The line of Linsmayer, Molin and center Taylor Peters combined for four goals and four assists.
Molin, preparing for his first professional season in North America, scored Idaho’s first two goals. Also scoring for the Steelheads were Linsmayer, Andre Bouvet-Morrissette (two, including an empty-netter), Brandon Magee and Peters.
STEELHEADS SIGN DECORATED GOALIE
Eric Hartzell is the third goalie on the roster, along with Philippe Desrosiers and Chris Rawlings. He started Saturday night and played the first period, allowing one goal with 11 saves.
Hartzell, 26, spent most of the past two seasons with Wheeling (25-19-2 in 46 ECHL games) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (12-8-1 in 27 AHL games).
Hartzell played at Quinnipiac University and was a Hobey Baker Award finalist his senior season in 2012-13. He led Quinnipiac to the NCAA championship game that season, losing to Yale.
