Barry Ogalue scored 20 points, Gabe Levin had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Long Beach State beat San Francisco 83-71 on Friday night.
Deishaun Booker and Jordan Griffin each added 12 points for LBSU. The 49ers were just 4 of 15 from 3-point range but made 27 of 32 free throws.
Long Beach led 37-34 at halftime with 14 points from Ogalue. The 49ers were 22 of 25 from the free-throw line in the second half.
San Francisco cut it to 71-65 on a 3-pointer from Chase Foster with 2:33 left. Booker hit two free throws and Levin added two more on their next possession for a 10-point lead.
