Boise’s Sean Shaffer won Super Pro at the NHRA Summit E.T. Finals in Mission, B.C., over Labor Day weekend. Joined by 36 racers on the Firebird team who traveled to Canada, Shaffer won the seven-round race with a 7.28-second elapsed time at 183.11 mph over Emily Lewis from Maple Valley, Wash. With the win, Shaffer captured the “wildcard” position and is invited to compete for the Summit World Championship in an eight-car field at the NHRA World Finals on Nov. 10-13 in Pomona, Calif. Firebird finished sixth in the team competition, which was won by Team Pacific.
