The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is looking for citizens to serve on a Stakeholder Advisory Team (SAT) during the development of a master plan for Land of the Yankee Fork State Park.
The plan will guide development and operations at the park for the next 20 years.
SAT members will learn about the issues and opportunities that lay ahead for the park and advise the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation on the park's future.
Anyone interested needs to prepare a brief statement of his or her interests regarding the park and why your talents might benefit the process.
The deadline for receiving applications is Sept. 22.
Send it to: Rick Just, Planning Manager, IDPR, PO Box 83720, Boise ID 83720-0065, or email it to rjust@idpr.idaho.gov.
You may also drop off your application at the Land of the Yankee Fork interpretive center in Challis.
The first meeting is a team orientation and a tour of the park, including the recently acquired Bayhorse ghost town and surrounding property. That tour is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning in Challis.
The SAT will meet at least twice during the process, and team members will be encouraged to attend up to three public meetings.
The general public will have several opportunities to comment before the Idaho Park and Recreation Board approves the final plan in May, 2009. Those opportunities will be announced at a later date.
