Playing Outdoors writer Chadd Cripe spent four days in the new Hemingway-Boulders Wilderness with a crew from Idaho Public Television’s “Outdoor Idaho” show. The final ascent to Ryan Peak, 11,714 feet above sea level, was a grueling adventure but it was worth the view.
Dr. Jennifer Anderson, a cardiologist and director of the Saint Alphonsus Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program, said they are thrilled to be the beneficiary for this year's Festival of Trees in Boise. The money will be used to expand the current space and provide more exercise equipment for people at the center.
Scentsy invited the community to help turn on their Christmas lights — 724,000 of them when they're all lit. That's 43 miles of lights, decorating 450 trees. New this year is a tunnel of lights, featuring 67,000 lights. The public is invited to drop by to stroll and take holiday photos. Scentsy is at Eagle Road and Pine Avenue in Meridian.
Thurber, the beloved mascot for the University of Redlands, was diagnosed with cancer in early November. The university honored him with a commencement ceremony Monday to thank him for his service. Thurber, 8, passed away Tuesday.
