What's there: Bass, crappie, bluegill, bass, catfish and trout.
Description: The 15,000-acre reservoir west of Cambridge is one of the best warm-water fisheries in the state. Anglers flock here for its spectacular crappie, bass and catfish fishing. Oxbow and Hells Canyon reservoirs are directly downstream, which offer similar fishing opportunities. April, May and June are prime months for fishing and camping. Summers are blistering hot, and then good fishing resumes in the fall.
There are fully developed campgrounds with power, water and electricity, and undeveloped camping along the reservoirs. There are also boat ramps and several places to buy fishing tackle and supplies. The reservoirs divide Idaho and Oregon, and you can fish with a license from either state, but you can only fish from shore in the state for which you have a license.
Getting there: Take U.S. 95 north to Cambridge and then Idaho 71 to the reservoir. An alternative route is to take I-84 into Oregon and launch a boat near Huntington, Ore.
