Last Chance Campground near McCall shouldn't be your last choice for camping.
The campground has lots of shade, a stream and a hiking trail to tumbling Goose Creek Falls.
Take the 2-mile drive off Idaho 55 and you will be surprised.
How to get there: Drive north on Idaho 55 from Boise 102 miles to McCall. Travel west from McCall on Idaho 55, seven miles to the Last Chance Campground sign and turn on Forest Road No. 257. Go north two miles on a dirt road to the campground.

Activities: Hiking, strolling along the roads, and just sitting in the cool shade.
Amenities: Twenty-three units, handicapped-accessible toilets, three double units for families, trail access, hosts, a day-use area with horseshoe pit, drinking water through a hand pump and an artesian well, extended spurs for longer RVs.
Nearest place to get supplies: McCall or New Meadows.
Fees/reservations: $10 single; $15 double site. Group sites available. No reservations.
