Michael Callahan, department of chemistry and biochemistry at Boise State, will explain how meteorites provide a window into the chemistry that took place during the formation of the solar system. Historic Northeast Oregon Mining: Meet at the WinCo parking lot on Meridian Road at 7:30 a.m. for an 8 a.m. departure. Retired Oregon State geologist Mark Ferns will lead the tour. Visit the restored Sumpter Dredge, then loop through Granite to Greenhorn and then down the Burnt River. Dress for the weather; bring lunch and water. Jordan’s Ride: Late registration at 7 a.m. with start of first ride at 7:30 a.m. at Eagle Sports Complex, 12000 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Garden City. Distances include 10, 30, 50, 100 and 105 miles.
