Campgrounds along the Middle Fork of the Payette River and along Silver Creek near Silver Creek Plunge, north of Crouch, are in excellent shape and perfect for camping.
I just drove the 40- to 50-mile loop from Crouch to Boiling Springs and over to Silver Creek and back to do a photo shoot for next week's Idaho Outdoors cover story on the Middle Fork of the Payette River.
The area has so much in recreation - from camping to fishing to mountain biking and ATVing.
One thing about it, there are plenty of U.S. Forest Service developed campgrounds and miles and miles of areas for getting away from it all and camping in an undeveloped campsite.
Never miss a local story.
The campsites along Silver Creek are beautiful and lush.
The roads are in good shape but be prepared for lots and lots and lots of dust.
The story will be in June 5's Outdoors section in the Idaho Statesman. Look for it.
