According to the Idaho Secretary of State Voting Statistics, the May 17 primary election, 16.2 percent of Ada County registered voters actually voted and 23 percent of Idaho registered voters actually voted.
To those registered voters who chose not to or forgot to vote, we will get leaders that you did not vote for, obviously. The primary elections are more important than the general one; because that is when it is decided who is on the ballots for the general election. Some of the candidates who were eliminated in the primary lost by just a few votes. It is irresponsible (poor citizenship) to not vote. My guess is that a much larger percentage of new citizens voted; as that is the primary right of citizenship. Do not complain about the government if you did not exercise this most important duty.
