The Ada County commissioners are demanding that the cities of Meridian and Garden City provide courthouse facilities. This will cost us taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. This is in addition to what we already pay for county services at the downtown Boise courthouse. That facility has plenty of space and time for additional court cases. The city of Meridian offered space in its new City Hall, but commissioners refused that location. The demand being made by the county commissioners does not make sense and it’s not being done in the best interest of the citizens, especially those living in Meridian and Garden City. Thank you Mayors Tammy de Weerd and John Evans for working so diligently to try and stop this from happening. And, commissioners, we are your constituents, too, so please start working on our behalf as well.
