As the new chairperson of the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Silver Sage, I am proud to be part of this organization as we embrace Idaho Gives today . Idaho Gives is a statewide day of giving to support Idaho nonprofits.
True to the Girl Scout way, Girl Scouts of Silver Sage will celebrate Idaho Gives by giving back. They’ll collect toys and games for children in the pediatric ward at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, food for animals at the Magic Valley Humane Society, and books for children at Aid for Friends shelter in Pocatello. In the Treasure Valley, more than 100 Girl Scouts and troop leaders will set off into the Boise Foothills to clean up trash, and Canyon County Girl Scouts got a jump on the day by participating in an Earth Day clean up on April 23 at Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge.
In all, nearly 300 Girl Scouts and 25 leaders will give back 750 hours of community service to celebrate Idaho Gives.
Community service is just one of the ways Girl Scouts learn, and learn to lead. Please consider your support for Girl Scouts of Silver Sage during Idaho Gives.
Never miss a local story.
