On March 28 the governor of Idaho outdid himself for inconsiderate and insensitive remarks. He addressed the Legislature and told them they did a good job by not doing anything to insure the thousands of Idahoans who fall through the gap.
His reasoning, if it can be called such, was that there are thousands of people with insurance in Idaho hospitals who die each year. That has to be the epitome of dumb, careless statements. It is an embarrassment and shameful to have a governor who says such a thing. He and his Republican legislators are a degradation of the concept of a democracy that is supposed to represent and work for the people who elected them.
If he had any self-respect he would resign, as he should.
