The Ada County Treasurer’s Office is in turmoil, according to the Statesman. The county commissioners have begun an investigation, which is the right thing to do. However, in the interim, the treasurer has exhibited enough behavioral anomalies that an average person would think she has something to hide. No one can go from being a competent administrator to a wholly incompetent one in that short of time without something being seriously amiss. Apparently the commission has an untried legal remedy which allows them to suspend the treasurer pending investigation. They should do this.
