I guess I might as well get used to standing up to the Trump bashers, starting with John Love (Letters, Sept. 15).
I have wished Donald Trump would run for president ever since I read the news item about the ice rink. Haven’t heard that one? OK, here’s the story.
New York City had a city-owned ice rink, and it was broken. No one could fix it. Contractors came and went for years. Finally Donald Trump bought it outright and it was fixed in three months. I can’t quote my source on this, but it is probably on the Internet, which I don’t use. I remember thinking, “I wish he could fix our government like that.”
Well, now he is actually running for president, getting wild support, and I am thrilled. I am putting a handmade “Go, Trump” sign in my front yard. I called Republican campaign headquarters in Boise and asked how he is doing in Idaho. A woman told me, “Very well.”
A while ago I lost faith in the ability of both political parties to solve our country’s problems and began calling myself an independent. Now I am a Trump supporter. Go, Trump.
