If nine of every 10 Americans support mandatory GMO labeling, how did this bill the Deny Americans the Right to Know (DARK) manage to pass the House of Representatives?
Two words: Big Food.
Biotechnology companies and members of the Grocery Manufacturers Association — including brands Kellogg’s, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and General Mills — have spent more than $100 million in efforts to defeat GMO labeling, and you can bet they’re not planning to slow down anytime soon.

That’s where you come in. With Congress back, we have to do everything we can to keep the DARK Act from passing the Senate. We’re launching an all-out campaign urging these companies to stop funding anti-GMO labeling efforts and stand with us in support of mandatory labeling of chemically engineered foods. These companies market themselves as being honest and healthy, but they’re deceiving parents, families and consumers across the country — marketing their products on trust but funding anti-labeling efforts.
It’s time they hear what the American people really want: transparency. We need to know what is in our food and where it comes from.
