In the Saturday (May 16) article about sage grouse by Rocky Barker, we are told “climate change has increased fire intensity and spread for at least the past 20 years.” This is not factual. The number of wildfires in this country has been decreasing for 40 years. The acreage burned is about the same. That acreage has not gone down more is due to government mismanagement of our land, not mankind’s paltry 3 percent contribution to carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. To say otherwise is not only untrue, it’s just silly.
