Boise City Councilman TJ Thomson’s proposal to restrict fast-food sales near high schools sounds a lot like something George Orwell might have considered writing into his book, “1984,” but then he probably figured his readers couldn’t suspend their disbelief quite that far.
This proposal represents meddling in a matter that is the purview of parents, not city government.
What’s next? Searching backpacks for candy bars?
Note: Thomson removed the fast-food ban component from his Healthy Initiatives 2.0 proposal.
Never miss a local story.
