Regarding “Our religious freedom can’t coexist with discrimination” — I found your Sept. 20 editorial interesting and thought-provoking.
You state that the Kentucky clerk should do her job and follow the law or resign. I agree with you and I assume you agree that President Obama should do the same? He has openly stated that he will not enforce several laws that he does not agree with, i.e., DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act), etc.
And I assume you agree that the so-called “sanctuary cities” are also in error because they refuse to obey the law as well.
We are at a point where the “rights” of different individuals and organizations are coming into conflict and collisions are occurring where both parties’ “rights” cannot be honored because they are mutually exclusive — either one or the other.
However, I think we can still do a lot to try to reach compromise and try our best to accommodate the various parties and try to keep a tone of good will towards all.
