Who knew? Idaho leads the nation in the rate of e-mail spam, says Symantec’s MessageLabs Intelligence. Based on its own clients’ experiences, Symantec said 93.8 percent of our e-mail is spam. The global average is 86.4 percent.
Why are we spammed more? Spammers generally target locations with a higher density of smaller businesses that have fewer resources for information-technology security, Symantec said.
What to do: Just hit the delete key. Don’t reply — that validates your e-mail address and brings more spam.
