Police say the suspect who shot a 34-year-old Nampa man on Friday is a man with a light complexion and sandy blond hair in his early to mid 30s.

He is described as 5 foot 10 inches tall and 170 pounds with a muscular or stocky build. He has distinct tattoos on the back of both calves. He also was wearing a large silver ring on his right hand.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a black military-style cap, dark-colored collared shirt, knee-length dark shorts, and black skater type shoes with white soles and white mid calf socks.

The shooting happened Friday night at a house in the 100 block of Smith Avenue in central Nampa.

During the investigation, police were led to a house in the 200 block of West Dewey Avenue, west of Northwest Nazarene University.

Officers found a person of interest in the house, but did not find the shooting suspect.

The victim was taken to a local hospital on Friday. Police do not believe the shooting was gang related.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the shooting should call the Nampa police at 465-2257 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
