Several players with ties to the state of Idaho have made the rosters of Canadian Football League teams.
Former Boise State quarterback Jared Zabransky is with the Edmonton Eskimos, while former BSU wide receiver Drisan James is with the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Ex-BSU lineman Andrew Woodruff made the Montreal Alouettes. Jon Gott, a former BSU lineman, is on the practice roster of the Calgary Stampeders. Ex-BSU quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie was cut by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and remains an unsigned free agent.
Two former Idaho players also made CFL squads — fullback Rolly Lumbala (British Columbia Lions) and defensive back J.R. Ruffin (Calgary Stampeders). Running back Cedric Thompson was cut Thursday by Calgary.
Former Idaho State kicker Eddie Johnson is on the Toronto Argonauts' roster.
Cody Pickett, a Caldwell High graduate, is the backup quarterback for the Argonauts.
