Officers in Kuna and Boise will step up patrols during the next two weeks, targeting drivers who drive too fast, tailgate or cause traffic problems that could lead to crashes.
The cities each received a grant from the Idaho Department of Highway Safety to pay for the costs of the directed patrols.
The grant comes from the Idaho Transportation Department.
In Kuna, officers will strictly enforce posted speed limitsand all traffic laws, paying special attention to areas along Idaho 69 and Avalon Street.
Boise police will use the money to pay motorcycle officers for extra shifts.
