Rain and lightning could revisit Boise this weekend, but the National Weather Service reports the likelihood of thunderstorms and showers is lessening.
So the dazzling light show that entertained Boiseans late Thursday and early Friday is not likely to stage an encore this weekend, nor is the torrential rain that flooded many streets plus some homes and businesses Wednesday evening.
A 50 percent chance of storms Friday brought little drama to the Boise area, but most surrounding areas saw lightning and rain, meteorologist Jeanne Allen said. The weather service issued a flash flood warning south of Nampa about 3:30 p.m., and some street flooding was reported in the Melba area, Allen said.
Boise’s chance of thunderstorms and showers is pegged at 40 percent Saturday and 30 percent Sunday, Allen said.
Never miss a local story.
Friday’s high in Boise was 86 degrees, and highs of 83 degrees are expected both Saturday and Sunday.
