Boise reached a high of 77 degrees Friday, just under the 78-degree record for today set in 1877. But you'd have to go back in time to 1988 to experience the heat Friday in Mountain Home -- which tied the record of 75 degrees, according to the National Weather Service's Boise office.
The heat won't last, according to Bill Wojcik, meteorologist with the National Weather Service. A cold front is expected to come in Saturday night, he said.
"This is just a temporary thing," he said. "We have a chance of rain tomorrow, but if we do get anything here in Boise it won't be very much."
