    Lindy Moore, the wife of fallen Coeur d'Alene policeman Gregory K. Moore, helps remove a black ribbon revealing his name with daughter Gemma, 2 and son Dylon Moore, 13, on the Idaho Peace Officers' Memorial Thursday May 19, 2016 in Meridian. Sgt. Moore was shot and killed while performing his duty in May of 2015. His name was added to the list of of now 71 officers dating back to 1883 engraved on the memorial located in front of the Idaho State Police Headquarters in Meridian. A ceremony honoring their service was attended by various law enforcement representatives from around Idaho as well as family, friends and appreciative citizens.

  • Valley County's new coroner says Idaho laws on handling bodies are vague

    Valley County Coroner Scott Carver, who also runs the only funeral home in McCall, was recently appointed to the position after moving to Idaho from Lake Moses, Wash. He notes that although states have different rules, Idaho's laws don't prevent the remains of the recently deceased to be moved out of the county without family consent.
