Three young Treasure Valley men were among the drivers in a seven-car crash in North Idaho Sunday evening, Idaho State Police report.
The chain-reaction crash on northbound U.S. 95 at the Spalding Bridge near Lapwai started when Lapwai resident Harlan P. Wheeler, 29, ran out of gas and pulled over, ISP said in a news release Monday. An approaching vehicle stopped suddenly to avoid hitting Wheeler's car and was struck by a third vehicle, according to the news release. The pile-up also involved four other vehicles including cars driven by Payton B. Galbraith, 19, of Boise, Drew M. Tonning, 20, of Meridian and Ian L. Ericson, 21, of Middleton, ISP reported.
No injuries were reported, and all seven drivers were wearing seat belts, the news release said. The highway was blocked for about two hours after the crash, ISP said.
