The election Tuesday won’t be over until it’s over.
You might be one of the thousands of people who already have voted across the state, a relatively new trend that has made voting easier for many people.
But I like many others will go to the polls after going over the ballot beforehand, doing my research and making my choice. I was taught by my parents that voting was my fundamental responsibility as an American.
If you need information about the candidates check out the Idaho Statesman voter’s guide here.
I covered the governor’s race this year and I wrote a series of stories about where Gov. Butch Otter and A.J. Balukoff stand. I also examined Gov. Otter’s record.
I talked to several people while waiting for the bus last week who told me they weren’t going to vote because they had not educated themselves on the issues. Cynical political operatives are counting on you to stay home or to go to the bar and complain so they can decide your future in your absence.
Don’t let them get away with it.
